Privacy
This page explains how Edinburgh Business Club handles information submitted through the website.
Who we are
Edinburgh Business Club is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. For anything on this page, use the contact page or email info@edinburghbusiness.org.
Your information
If you contact Edinburgh Business Club through the website, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, business name, reason for enquiry, and message.
We use this information to reply to your enquiry, discuss membership, training, partnership opportunities, community access, or member help where relevant.
If you separately subscribe to the EBC Brief, we use the email address and consent details you provide to send the Brief and relevant EBC updates. A general enquiry is not treated as marketing consent. Subscription records may include the page, content pack, channel or call to action that led to the opt-in so we can understand which useful contributions people choose to receive.
Email subscribers can unsubscribe using the link in an email. We may measure delivery, opens, clicks and replies where the approved email service supports those events, but we do not infer a sale or membership decision from timing alone.
For privacy questions, contact info@edinburghbusiness.org.
Analytics & cookies
The website sets analytics cookies only if you choose "Accept analytics" on the banner. We use analytics to understand which pages help local owners, so we can improve them. There is no advertising and no sale of data.
Declining changes nothing about how the site works for you. To change your mind later, clear this site's stored data in your browser and choose again when the banner reappears, or contact us and we will explain how.
The EBC Brief
We send the EBC Brief only if you tick the consent box on the subscription form. When you subscribe we store your name, email address, business name if you give one, the version of the consent text you agreed to with a timestamp, and the page, content pack, channel or call to action that led to the opt-in.
Every issue includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately and you do not need to give a reason.
Retention
Enquiry details are kept only while the conversation or relationship is live. Subscription records are kept while you are subscribed, then removed. You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will do so unless we have a genuine reason to keep it, which we will explain.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Use the contact page or email info@edinburghbusiness.org and we will respond directly.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
